Thanks,, This message has been edited by pumpkin on 03-16-2004 at 11:46 PM You'll never notice the visors (worthless fly wings)are "missing". You'll love the clean appearance of your Prowler w/o wipers. The best part is that you'll actually be able to see the hood and your field of vision will increase by a gazillion. The biggest downside for me is not having the wipers available to wipe the windshield after going through the car wash. Put a small squeegie(?) in the glove box. DO keep the wipers and a metric wrench in the trunk if needed. Pat and Norm, Your illustrations are awsome. I like the quality of your wiper cover solution...beats the heck out of the cheap rubber covers that are on mine. John - I simply used two rubber covers that were on the legs of an old easel I used to make presenations. You can buy the covers at any hardware store, Home Depot,Lowes, etc. They hide the wiper stems. I tried chrome covers but thought they drew toomuch attention to the stems on my black car but might work on your Spectrasilver one. Marty I've seen billet caps made, plastic pieces used, and vacuum block-off caps used to cover the wiper arm threads,,,,,,all look better than those wipers. Marty is right, RAIN-X the windshield. Triple coat the first time, then a coat every month or two. If in doubt on longer trips,,,carry the driver's arm with you in the trunk. ------------------ ------------------ I have the billet covers. They are of high quality, but the polished look does draw attention against the black cowl. Someone posted that they removed the posts/motor and replaced the stock cowl with one that was a solid piece without the wiper post holes. This would probably be the way to go for some wiperless owners, but I have a concern with this because working wipers are a must on the annual inspection in my state. ------------------ I have the billet covers. Last year, while on our Devil's Highway cruise (1,000 switchbacks coming down from 10,000 feet of elevation), it was pouring down rain for 20 minutes. No wipers on the Alley Cat, only Rain-X. Norm, you just kill me... I'm glad I wasn't drinking coffee when reading your reply...I'd be wiping it off my monitor now....You Rock! ------------------ I'm glad I wasn't drinking coffee when reading your reply...I'd be wiping it off my monitor now....You Rock! hmmmmmmmmmmmm oh yeah... first day... I remember those! 2nd day.. .on the shelf Nice dust collectors tho!jd2ksilver After almost 60,000 miles I am taking my visors and wiper blades off. I have done a search, and only found one pic of what people are putting to cover the void of the wipers. I am on the job with Obi-wan on this, but was wondering if anyone has done a piece that matches the color? Not in chrome or anything that draws attention to it. cnote6 Dude, Your coming to TEXAS!!! pumpkin Go for it Chromer JD, Marty Usher Just keep some RainX on the windshield.
